Section 1 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 requires the Scottish Ministers to consider whether policies have impacts on children and young people and to assess what further action is required to ensure compliance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Section 1 of the Equalities Act 2010 places a responsibility on public bodies to actively consider how they can reduce inequalities of outcome caused by socioeconomic disadvantage. The duty focuses on socio-economic inequality issues such as low income, low wealth, and area deprivation.

The Islands (Scotland) Act 2018 seeks to increase economic prosperity for island communities. Section 13 of the Act requires the Scottish Ministers to undertake an Island Communities Impact Assessment where a plan or strategy is likely to have significantly different effects on an island community than other communities.

This report highlights analysis of the 1,221 responses received during the consultation on the draft National Transport Strategy, which was launched on 31 July 2019.

They gathered insights and information on initiatives that worked well to gain a better understanding of the issues and barriers.
