Senior Civil Engineers - Roads

We are currently seeking applications for seven Senior Civil Engineers within Transport Scotland in the Roads Directorate. 

The Directorate contributes to Transport Scotland’s delivery priorities of:

• Improved connections across Scotland
• Better journey times, better reliability
• Greener transport alternatives, reduced emissions
• Enhanced safety, more innovation

To help us deliver our responsibilities we are seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants to fill a number of senior grade civil engineering roles. These are exciting and challenging engineering positions.

Essential Criteria

1. Experience in roads and transport schemes in at least two of the following:

• scheme appraisal & analysis
• design
• scheme preparation
• statutory procedures 
contract management
• procurement
• construction
• network operations
• traffic data services / management
• Intelligent Transport Systems
• Road Safety Systems
• flood prevention
• Asset Management and Maintenance
• Development Management
• Ability to project manage concurrent work programmes
• Financial management skills

4. Strong communication skills with ability to network and manage relationships with a range of internal and external groups, agencies and individuals with an emphasis on customer focus.
