Are you an experienced Chartered Civil Engineer (or equivalent professional qualification) with a track record of delivering high value/high risk infrastructure works, leading multi-disciplinary teams?

Transport Scotland is looking for an experienced individual to fill a senior team leader role within the A9 Dualling delivery team.

The team sits in the Major Projects Directorate who is responsible for the design, assessment, promotion, procurement and construction of major transport infrastructure projects.  These include the current Scottish Motorway and Trunk Road Programme (including the A9 Dualling Perth to Inverness, A83 Rest and Be Thankful and A96 Dualling Inverness to Nairn (including Nairn Bypass)).  We also have new projects emerging from the second Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR2). The Directorate also leads and advises on procurement and contract management matters for Transport Scotland.

The A9 Dualling Programme Delivery Team is headed up by three senior members of staff comprising of two Senior Delivery Team Leaders who report to the Head of A9 Dualling Programme Delivery.  You will have direct management of a team of around 5 engineers and advisors, which will vary commensurate with the delivery programme. The team is also supported by governance and communications staff together with a specialist administration team currently comprising 4 staff members.

Experience

  1. Financial and Risk Management skills related related to high value/high risk infrastructure projects or programmes.
  2. Project/Programme Management skills related to high value/high risk infrastructure projects or programmes
  3. Substantial experience in roads and transport infrastructure schemes in at least two of the following: 
    • Road / bridge design 
    • Procurement 
    • Construction 
    • Contract management
