The M73 Trunk Road (Maryville to Mollinsburn) (Temporary 50mph Speed Restriction) Order 2021

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily imposing a 50mph speed restriction on the following length of road:

1. That length of the M73 being part of the M73 Junction 2 off slip road from the northbound carriageway of the M73 to the westbound carriageway of the M8, from the point 174 metres or thereby northeast of the point where the M73 Junction 2 off slip road diverges from the northbound carriageway of the M73 to a point 1.02 kilometres or thereby northwest of the point of that diverge, a distance of 1.05 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required in the interest of road safety, will be in operation from 30 March 2021 until 20 January 2022 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

Alternative routes

An alternative route for traffic is not required.
