The A85 Trunk Road (Oban) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2021

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A85 Tyndrum – Oban Trunk Road from its junction with Corran Esplanade, Oban in a generally north easterly direction to the junction with Dunollie Road, Oban then in a generally southwards direction along Dunollie Road and George Street, Oban to its junction with Queens Park Place, Oban, a distance of 750 metres or thereby.

The Order is required to facilitate the Oban Reindeer Parade and Christmas Lights Switch On  and will be in operation from 27 November until 28 November 2021. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place for approximately 20 minutes from around 5pm and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.

Alternative routes

An alternative route for traffic during the prohibition is not available.
