The A85 Trunk Road (Methven) (Temporary Prohibition On Waiting, Loading and Unloading) (No. 2) Order 2022

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1), 14(1)(a) and (4) and 124(1)(d) of, and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily waiting, loading and unloading on that length of the A85 Perth – Lochearnhead Trunk Road from a point 93 metres or thereby east of its junction with unclassified Road, C409, Methven in a general westerly direction along Main Street, Methven to a point 148 metres or thereby west of its junction with James Street, Methven a total distance of 1.4 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate a carriageway resurfacing programme will be in force from 4 July until 13 August 2022. It is intended that restrictions on the trunk road will be in operation between 07:00hrs and 19:00hrs from 4 July until 15 July (excluding weekends) and between 18:00hrs and 06:00hrs from the 17 July until 12 August (excluding Friday and Saturday evenings). Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or vehicles being used for carrying out the works.

This Order also revokes the A85 Trunk Road (Methven) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2022 (the revoked Order). The revoked Order applied to the same temporary prohibition on waiting, loading and unloading to the length of road described above as this Order between 4th August and 13th August 2022. The effect of this revocation is simply to enable the temporary prohibition of waiting, loading and unloading to be in place for the longer period of time (4th July until 13th August 2022), allowing the resurfacing works to be completed.
