The A83 Trunk Road (Tarbert to Campbeltown) (Temporary Prohibition on use of Road) Order 2021

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on the following lengths of road:

1. That length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from a point 100 metres or thereby northeast of its northmost junction with the unclassified road to Cairndow in a generally south westwards direction to a point 100 metres or thereby south west of that junction, a distance of 200 metres or thereby.
2. That length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from its junction with Station Road, Tarbet westwards to a point 300 metres or thereby west of its junction with Church Road, Arrochar, a distance of 1.1 kilometres or thereby.
3. That length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from its junction with Lorne Street, Lochgilphead generally eastwards in Poltalloch Street and Lochnell Street to its junction with Campbell Street, Lochgilphead, a distance of 410 metres or thereby.
4. That length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from its junction with Brae Road, Ardrishaig generally northeastwards in Tarbert Road and northwards in Chalmers Street to its junction with East Bank Road, Ardrishaig, a distance of 380 metres or thereby.
5. That length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from a point 150 metres or thereby northeast of its south-most junction with The Avenue, Inveraray in a generally north easterly direction in Main Street South, Main Street West and then Main Street East then in a north westerly direction in Front Street East to its north-most junction with The Avenue, Inveraray, a distance of 325 metres or thereby.
6. That length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from its junction with Harbour Street, Tarbert in a generally westwards direction to its junction with Lady Ileene Road, Tarbert, a distance of 140 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Remembrance Day Parades 2021, and to enable members of the public to participate in this event, will be in operation from 14 November until 15 November 2021. It is anticipated that during this time the restrictions will only be in place for a period up to 30 minutes, and will only have effect in relation to such length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.
