The A83 Trunk Road (Inveraray) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2024

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from its junction with the entrance to the Avenues junction and Main Street South, Inveraray in a generally northerly direction in Main Street South, Main Street West, Main Street East then in a north westerly direction in Front Street East and Front Street West to its junction with the entrance leading to Inveraray Castle, a distance of 550 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Inveraray Highland Games Parade 2024 and to enable members of the public to watch this event, will be in operation from 16th July until 17th July 2024. It is anticipated that the restrictions will only be in operation for approximately 20 minutes and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or vehicles being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.
