The A82 Trunk Road (Invermoriston) (Temporary 40mph Speed Restriction) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) and 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the following lengths of road:

  1. A82 Dallnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 140 metres or thereby southeast of its junction with Dalcataig Road, Invermoriston in a generally south easterly and southwards direction to a point 1.1 kilometres or thereby south of the entrance to Loch Ness Highland Lodges, Invermoriston, a distance of 2.5 kilometres or thereby
  2. A82 Dallnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 75 metres or thereby northeast of its junction with Bunoich Brae, Fort Augustus in a generally northeastwards direction to a point 700 metres or thereby northeast of its junction with the access to Alt na Criche, Fort Augustus, a distance of 2.6 kilometres or thereby

The Order, which is required to facilitate works being carried out by Scottish Water on those lengths of road, comes into force on 29 October 2018 and will remain in force until the works are complete. The restrictions only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
