The A82 Trunk Road (Glencoe) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road and Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2022

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 temporarily prohibiting traffic and imposing a 30mph speed restriction on that length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from its junction with the ZC1094 Glen Etive Road in a generally westwards direction to a point 500 metres west of its junction with the Old Glencoe and Clachaig Inn Road, Glencoe, a distance of 12.7 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Skyline Scotland Event, will be in operation from 17 September until 19 September. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place for short periods of time between the hours of 07:30 and 15:30 but will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, vehicles being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event or to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions, (Special Forces)(Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
