The A82 Trunk Road (Glencoe, Altnafeadh and Rannoch Moor) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2021

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting traffic on the following lengths of:-

1. The A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 212 metres or thereby east of its junction with the unclassified access road to Allt Na Reigh Cottage in a general south easterly direction to a point 308 metres or thereby north west of the access junction to Buachaille Etive Beag Car Park a distance of 880 metres or thereby.

2. The A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 109 metres or thereby east of the access junction to Buachaille Etive Mor Car Park, Altnafeadh, in a general south westerly direction to a point 827 metres or thereby west of the access to Buachaille Etive Mor Car Park Altnafeadh, a distance of 936 metres or thereby.

3. The A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 975 metres or thereby south of Lochan na h-Achlaise View Point, Rannoch Moor in a general north westerly direction to a point 348 metres or thereby north west of Lochan na h-Achlaise View Point, Rannoch Moor a distance of 1.32 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to works, will be in operation from 4 June until 5 June 2021. It is anticipated that the restrictions will only be in operations for short periods of approximately 5 minutes intervals between the hours of 5am and 12pm and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the lengths of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes.
