The A82 Trunk Road (Drumnadrochit and Lewiston) (Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they propose to make the above Order under section 84(1)(a) and 124(1)(d) of, and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 of, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of imposing a 30mph speed limit on that length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from 180 metres or there by east of the extended east gable of the Visitors Centre, Drumnadrochit Hotel, westwards, then southwards, then southeastwards, to a point 215 metres or thereby east of the extended front elevation of Borlum Bridge Cottage , Lewiston, a distance of 1.865 kilometres or thereby.

The Order is required for public safety due to the installation of a new roundabout and will be in operation from 27 February 2018. The prohibition on use will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

Alternative Routes

Alternative route for traffic is not required.
