The A82 and A86 Trunk Roads (Glencoe and Kinloch Laggan) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order under section 62(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting traffic on the following lengths of Trunk Road:

  1. That length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 5.3 kilometres or thereby west of its junction with the C1094 Glen Etive Road junction in a generally westwards direction to a point 8.5 kilometres or thereby west of the C1094 Glen Etive Road junction, a distance of 3.2 kilometres or thereby.
  2. That length of the A86 Spean Bridge – Kingussie Trunk Road from its junction with the unclassified road leading to Ardverikie Estate, Kinloch Laggan in a generally south westwards direction to the junction with the unclassified access road to Laggan Dam, a distance of 20.4 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate filming on the trunk road will be in operation from 7 November until 9 November 2018.  It is intended that filming will take place at 2 minute intervals every 15 minutes approximately between 7am and 12 noon within this period, and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes; in connection with the filming on the road; or in connection with the placing of the required signage.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the prohibition is not required.
