The A68 Trunk Road (Edinburgh Road Jedburgh) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting and 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2017
The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order, under section 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the Order is to restrict speed and prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road :
- That length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road, also known as Edinburgh Road, north of Jedburgh, from the junction of the A68 and the entrance to Bankend North Industrial Estate to a point 753 metres north of that point, at the junction of the A68 and the entrance to the sewerage works, a total distance of 753 metres or thereby.
- That length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road, also known as Edinburgh Road, north of Jedburgh, from a point 117 metres north of the junction of the A68 and the entrance to Bankend North Industrial Estate to a point 636 metres north of that point, at the junction of the A68 and the entrance to the sewerage works, a total distance of 636 metres or thereby.
The Order, which is required to allow safe and unobstructed access of the A68 adjacent to Riverside Park, during the Jed-forrest Rugby Sevens Event will be in force from 13th May 2017 until 14th May 2017 but will only have effect in relation to such length(s) of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes or to acts done with the permission or upon the direction of a police constable in uniform.
Alternative routes for traffic in relation to the lengths of road affected by the Order during the prohibition will be as signposted. Detailed descriptions can be obtained at Amey Highways, 6a Dryden Road, Bilston Glen Industrial Estate, Loanhead, Midlothian, EH20 9LZ.
