The A68 Trunk Road (Edinburgh Road, Jedburgh) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2022

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will temporarily prohibit waiting and impose a 30mph speed restriction on the following lengths of trunk road:

Temporary Prohibition on Waiting

1. That length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road at Jedburgh from a point 390 metres or thereby north of its junction with Headrig Road northwards to its junction with the access to the Jedburgh Waste Water Treatment Works, a distance of 753 metres or thereby.

Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction

2. That length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road at Jedburgh from a point 540 metres or thereby north of its junction with Headrig Road northwards to its junction with the access to the Jedburgh Waste Water Treatment Works, a distance of 636 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Jedforest 7’s Event will be in force from 14 May until 15 May 2022 but will only have effect in relation to such length(s) of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police, or coastguard purposes or vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
