Appointment of Scotland Board Member to Transport Focus

The Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, Michael Matheson MSP, today announced the appointment of Trisha McAuley as Scotland Board Member for Transport Focus.

Appointment

Trisha was a senior leader in national consumer organisations from 1995- 2014 including the Scottish and National Consumer Councils, Consumer Focus and Consumer Futures. She was the Director for Scotland of Consumer Futures until 2014. She has since developed a successful portfolio non-executive career, working across a range of sectors in Scotland and across the UK, and with a particular focus on regulated industries. Among other appointments, Trisha is a member of the ORR Consumer Expert Panel, the Heathrow Consumer Challenge Board, and the CAA Consumer panel. She is a former Board Member of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Trisha received an OBE for services to consumer affairs in 2015.

 Length of Term, Remuneration and Time Commitment

The appointment is for four years and will commence on 1st September 2020. A Board Member of Transport Focus receives £12,425 per annum based on four days contribution a month.

Other Ministerial Appointments

Ms McAuley does not hold any other Ministerial appointments.

Political Activity

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.

Ms McAuley has had no political activity in the last five years.
