Queensferry Crossing saves an additional £50 million

Work to deliver a Nairn bypass and dual the A96 from Inverness to Nairn took a major step forward today.

Motorists on the A9 should be aware of traffic restrictions on two sections of the route as work is carried out for the A9 Dualling programme starting Wednesday 1 October 2014.

Locals are being invited to have their say on the preferred option for the A96 Inverness to Nairn (including Nairn Bypass) dualling scheme.

A contractor has been selected to take forward ground investigation work as part of the A82 Tarbet to Inverarnan improvement scheme.

More than a million pounds is to be invested to carry out major repairs and improve the A82 at Glen Gloy where a landslip caused severe damage to the riverbank supporting the road.

Multi-million contract up for grabs

A contract worth at least £30 million to take forward the detailed design work for the first section of the Scottish Government’s ambitious A96 dualling programme is up for grabs.

The second of three large design contracts for the ambitious A9 dualling programme, each estimated to be worth between £40-£60 million, has been awarded.

The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie Tipperty project is well on the road to completion today after Transport Minister, Keith Brown announced that preferred bidder, Connect Roads, will start preparatory works this week.
