Locals and road users are to get the chance to see and comment on initial design work for four dualling projects which cover 24 of the 80 miles of the Scottish Government’s ambitious A9 Dualling programme.

The contractor delivering the £500m M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvements Project, is extending an open invitation to the residents of Bothwell, Uddingston and Hamilton to learn about the major construction works currently underway on the M74 and at Raith Junction.

“The first Scottish Road Safety Week has been a real opportunity to promote ways to keep our children safe.” Transport Minister Derek Mackay said today.

Communities along the A96 are to being given the chance to have a first look at early assessment work to dual the road between east of Nairn and Aberdeen, on the day a design work programme for the road was published.

A series of public exhibitions are to be held in venues along the route to provide the public with an update on the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen dualling programme.

Traffic management will be in place on the A93 at Milltimber between Friday 1 May and Monday 6 July, as part of works on the AWPR/B-T project.

Motorists on the M74 should be aware of temporary traffic restrictions in the area over the next nine weeks starting on Monday 20th April.
